Updated Government Guidance to GP Practices

Patients sometimes ask us why we aren’t moving back to pre-pandemic ways of operating, with all appointments being face-to-face rather than by telephone. The latest guidance from the Scottish Government, effective from the move to level 0 on July 19th,  instructs GP practices to continue operating as we have been doing throughout the pandemic, for infection control reasons. As outlined in the latest guidance (see below), we will continue to manage all contacts by telephone in the first instance , masks will continue to be worn in the health centre, and 2m distancing will be maintained in the waiting areas. This will remain the case until the guidance from the Scottish Government is updated.
